SafeAir is developed by ParaZero and is the number one safety system on the market. It prevents loss of payload, protects bystanders on the ground, and safeguards your drone equipment through the use of an autonomously deployed parachute.
ParaZero's SafeAir enables safe drone operations across all industries, including:
- construction
- public safety
- delivery
- news and media
- film
- inspection
About SafeAir™
SafeAir uses independent sensors to continuously monitor and analyse your drone’s flight data and patterns. The system applies real-time data to automatically reduce flight risks and damage to your drone, equipment and payloads.
If a critical drone failure is identified, The SafeAir system triggers a series of safety measures:
- Power to motors is terminated to prevent laceration injuries and entanglement in the parachute’s cords.
- A parachute is activated through a patented ballistic parachute launcher. This ensures the canopy is fully opened in a fraction of a second.
- An audio buzzer warns bystanders about the danger from above, allowing them to move out of harm’s way in time.
- Thanks to the parachute, the drone is safely brought to ground, minimising damage and avoiding injury to bystanders.
- A post-flight report analyses the incident through data stored in the black box.
SafeAir benefits
- As it is autonomous, the system can identify loss of control and decide on the recovery.
- Through a combination of autonomous triggering and SafeAir’s parachute, safe emergency recovery can even be executed at very low altitudes.
- The SafeAir system terminates mechanical flight. When the rotors are stopped safety risks are eliminated.
- Data is collected and stored in the black box for post-deployment analysis and reporting.
- It can easily be repacked by the operator for reuse.
- SafeAir has a sleek, smart and lightweight design.
SafeAir software
In order for your SafeAir to work correctly, you will need to download the desktop application for your specific operating system. This will enable firmware updates and data sync for post-flight analysis.

Frequently asked questions
Your most pressing questions about the ParaZero SafeAir system answered.
How long does it take to install the SafeAir system?
Installation and removal should take about 10 minutes. An installation guide and user manual are provided with the system. As it is a plug-and-play system, all the necessary parts for the installation are included.
Why should a compass calibration be done?
Once the system is installed, the SafeAir changes the magnetic field around the drone, which affects the compass. This necessitates recalibration.
Does the parachute eject automatically?
Yes! The parachute automatically is triggered through the independent sensors based on a predefined set of parameters. It is also automatically activated in cases of free fall and breach of roll/pitch angle.
How is the SafeAir powered?
ParaZero’s SafeAir system is powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium-polymer battery that can’t be replaced. The system doesn’t use the drone’s power at all.
How long does the system’s battery last?
The system’s battery lasts at least one hour in standby/arm mode after a full charge.
How long does it take to charge the system?
It takes about 45 minutes to fully charge the system or 20 minutes to charge it to 80% capacity.
Will the SafeAir system guarantee that my drone isn’t damaged?
While it can’t guarantee that there will be no damage, the recovery system is designed to greatly minimise the impact energy of your drone, reducing damage. However, if you do find yourself in a position where your drone needs to be repaired, chat to Drone Parts about their drone repair services.
Can ParaZero SafeAir systems be repacked after deployment?
Yes, the operator can repack the SafeAir. Instructions on how to do so are included in the user manual.
